Where the Costa Blanca is unique !

With a coastline of over 500 km, the Costa Blanca offers a wilde range of wonderful sandy beaches, “Blue Flag” beaches awarded to the best in Europe,  and it therefore rightly belongs at the top of the most popular holidays destinations, undoubtedly a destination where rare nature reserves, a favorable climate, ancient history and modern tourism come together.

Also the atmospheric humidity is very low in Albir. The mountainous hinterland gives the coastal strip an extra protection, so that the temperature during the whole year is very nice and pleasant. In wintertime are the temperatures between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius during the daytime. In summertime, especially August, the temperature is more than 30 degrees Celsius.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO) the Costa Blanca is one of the most healthiest places on earth to live. In particular for people with asthma, rheumatism, heart disease, vascular disease, arthritis, allergy and skin disorder, the healthy climate of the Costa Blanca will act as an extra medication for their complaints. Hibernators or people who are living here permanently have adopted the customs of the Spanish and their lifestyle. Delicious and good food, as much as possible to be in the country air, to dance with friends or meet new ones, all those aspects will take care not only physical but also mental for the really good life at the Costa Blanca.

Ancient history and culture of this country, mixed with pre-historic sites of Celtic and Iberian civilizations, is a story mixed with battles and victories. Various civilizations have throughout history made their partial contribution to the rich culture of the area. Some cities possess an impressive cultural heritage. The Muslim influence is reflected in the many Arab castles. Many old constructions have left their mark on the land, as well as numerous Christian churches and monuments or modernism like in Novelda an imitation of the Goya cathedral in Barcelona. Nostalgia and history merge in a visit to the village of Guadalest,  hermit at the height of Calpe, the old bohemian town of Altea, Villajoyosa with it’s coloured houses, Alicante with the intact preserved Moorish Castle Santa Barbara and archaeological sites such as La Alcudia in Elche where the Iberian sculpture of “the lady of Elche” was discovered. Each village has preserved its typical Spanish habitats and culture, many of which are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

A wealth of nature: It is a mistake to think of Spain as just the land of sea and sun. Throughout the area you will find unspoiled natural areas of ecological significance with a range of authentic flora and fauna. In Calpe, the natural phenomenon El Peñon de lfach is the highest cliff in the Mediterranean sea, known as the jewel and symbol of the Costa Blanca. On the south, you will discover the magic of sun and sea, the salt flats of Santa Pola with hundreds of flamingos, the rocky outcrop of the Cabo Santa Pola with views of the island of Tabarca. The El Hondo lagoon, habitat of birds and the Palm Groves of Elche, the unique ‘El Palmeral‘, the largest palm city in Europe, Guardamar with the sandy dunes flanked by lush pine forests all were placed by UNESCO on the List of Nature monuments. Further southwards you will find beaches with fine white sand, the coastal lagoons of La Mata and the salt lakes of Torrevieja with its salt mining and where you will experience the beneficial effect of sun and salt. On the Costa Calida you will discover Mar Menor, an internal sea with a large spit of land, and La Manga offering a lot of watersports, golf and exclusive resorts.

Tourism: Benidorm, known as the largest tourist town on the Costa Blanca with its beaches, hotels and entertainment. A city created by and for tourism, the ‘Orlando’ of the Mediterranean! Torrevieja the city of salt-mining also has been declared as a major and favorite holiday destination. A city, with thousands of visitors from home and abroad. Discovering the unknown inland of the Costa Blanca, Alicante, the island Tabarca, the salt lakes or villages like Guardamar del Segura, Ciudad Quesada and a range of Golf courses, this all a very surprising experience!
